Hallywlska Palace

The palace was built between 1893-1898 for Count Walther von Hallwyl and his wife, Wilhelmina. It represents a well-preserved example of late 19th-century Swedish aristocratic life.  The museum offers visitors a glimpse into the lifestyles of the nobility in Stockholm during the late Victorian period, as the house has been preserved exactly as it was when donated.

 

 

Vasa Museum

Home to the impressive 17th-century warship Vasa, which was salvaged after 333 years underwater. More than 1,5 million visitors every year. This is a Must Go To! It is very impressive and imagine having a whole ship in that good condition after 333 years in water.

 Skansen Open-Air Museum

Not far from the Vasa Museum lays another Must Go To place, the Skanske Open-Air Musuem. The world's oldest open-air museum, showcasing Swedish history and culture. ABBA The Museum

Next to Skansen is another Hot Spot to visit, the ABBA Museum. A must-visit for fans of the iconic Swedish pop group, featuring interactive exhibits and memorabilia. If the telephone rings in the museum you must answer it, only 4 people have the number to the phone, and I guess you know who they are...

 

 Stockholm City Hall

An iconic building known for its architecture and as the venue for the Nobel Prize banquet. 

 

Royal Palace  

This used to be the residence for the royal family but today it is an official building. When head of states visit, banquets and more are being held here.  The royal family moved to Drottningholms Palace in the 80's. More than 1000 rooms can be found in the palace and it is worth a visit for sure!

 

 Drottningholm's Palace

Built in the 17th century, Drottningholm Palace has been a royal residence since the 1660s and continues to serve as the permanent residence of the Swedish royal family. In 1991, Drottningholm became Sweden's first World Heritage Site. Drottningholm Palace Theatre: This is the best-preserved 18th-century theater in Europe and the only one still using original stage machinery regularly.

The gardens are open to the public as some parts of the palace, for a fee, and if you are lucky you might see the King walking his dog. A must see here is the China Palace just a 15 minutes walk.

Old Town

The heart of the city. Where it all started. Once Stockholm was called "The city between the bridges" and the main area back then was Old town (gamla stan). Wander about in the narrow streets, see houses from 16's and 17's century. You get a great view of the majestic buildings from Skeppsbron.

Try to avoid Västerlånggatan where most tourist shops are and take a street going away from it.

Monteliusvägen

Monteliusvägen is a scenic walking path in Stockholm, Sweden, known for its stunning panoramic views of the city. It's situated on the northern shore of Södermalm island in Stockholm. It's considered one of the best and most romantic viewpoints in Stockholm. 

 

The path begins near Skolgränd and runs parallel to Bastugatan. It's accessible from central Stockholm via Centralbron bridge, Hornsgatan, and Bellmansgatan.
